Notes on the Wine
This is a traditional Austrian grape variety. A very elegant wine, harmonious, filled with ripe black cherry and subtle mocha notes. The palate features ripe deep fruit with a gentle smooth medium-bodied mouthfeel. The finish is long and has slightly spicy peppery nuances. Austrian reds feature amazingly pure fruit flavors– have this Zweigelt with your next barbeque or at your next party!

The imperial setting of the Vienna Hofburg was the scene of the Falstaff White Wine Gala. 150 top Austrian winemakers presented their best wines, over 1,800 guests tasted by the high-profile white wine variety. The highlight of the evening was the award of the Falstaff wine grower of the year. The most coveted award of the local wine scene this year goes to the Wagramer winemaker Anton Bauer.
Falstaff's chief editor Peter Moser justifies the decision of the editors with the consistent combination of tradition and experiment based on the highest quality awareness. So Farmer sat next to Wagramer classics such as Grüner and Roter Veltliner and Riesling early on red wines. A bold step, but today his Pinot Noir, his Cabernet Sauvignon and the exclusive Cuvée Legendary are among the best. And with his varietal and regional white wines, he plays in the same league.
