Notes on the Wine
"Les Ouvrées", or "The Works" has flavors of blackberry jam with spicy notes, particularly pepper. It has a powerful yet delicate smokiness with powdery, concentrated tannins and a spicy finish. It only gets better with age!
Notes on the Producer
Le Close de la Barthassade is located in Aniane, in the heart of the Terrasses du Larzac, in the Languedoc wine region. The 11-hectare estate is made up of several islets of vines planted on limestone scree terraces, located in the communes of Montpeyroux, Jonquières and Saint-Saturnin. The vineyard is worked in organic farming and certain tasks are punctuated by the biodynamic calendar. A maximum of work is carried out manually in order to respect the plants and the life of the soil.
