Region: New Zealand - Marlborough - Awatere Valley
Grapes: Sauvignon Blanc
Alcohol: 13%
Notes on the Wine
The Crossings Sauvignon Blanc shows lifted notes of bell pepper and passion fruit, underpinned with citrus notes. The palate is full with pure fruit flavors, yet balanced with a persistent, crisp mineral finish.
Notes on the Producer
Inspired by the tremendous potential to make great wine in the Awatere Valley, The Crossings now has three distinct vineyard sites along the northern bank of the Awatere River. This gives us the opportunity to make the most of the varied soil types and other terroir variations across the region, bringing you wine with a distinct edge.
Each of our three vineyards offers its own unique soil and climatic factors. Overlaid with skilful management to bring out the best of each site, this creates a rich choice of flavours for our winemakers to work with.
At The Crossings, we love what we do. We love our wine and we love the land that helps us make it. So we’re doing everything we can to make sure we can keep making wine here indefinitely. That is why we practice sustainable winegrowing. We make sure that nothing we do now will have an effect that will detract from our land or wine in future.
All three our vineyards are fully accredited through the Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand programme. This New Zealand wine industry initiative was established in 1995 to promote best practice in activities such as water usage, energy consumption, waste management and biodiversity.
