Notes on the Wine
A light golden hue with brilliant green reflections. It releases fine aromas of hawthorn, Williams pear and hazelnut on the nose. On the mouth are notes of small white flowers and spices.
Notes on the Producer
Jean Guiton founded his eponymous domaine in 1975 in the area just south of Beaune. His son Guillaume joined in 1998, taking over fully in 2002. Today, with approximately 10 acres of owned vineyards and another 15+ acres of leased vines (all of which Guillaume farms), Guiton produces approximately 4,000 cases of wine per year, virtually all of which are reds (there is a small amount of Aligote for good measure). As the winemaker is a fierce proponent of terroir and takes a natural approach to the vineyards and bottling, his wines are authentic, balanced and acclaimed yet maintain strong value for the money.
