Notes on the Wine

Straw yellow color with golden hints, to the nose it shows intense and persistent perfumes of wild flowers and aromas of yellow pulp fruit such as peach, apricot and golden apple. To the palate it’s rich and velvety with a good dose of freshness and sapidity to balance the great softness. Dry finish, persistent and intensely fruity.

Notes on the Producer

Umani Ronchi was founded in 1957 by Gino Umani Ronchi, and was later acquired by Massimo Bernetti. During the 1990s, Michele Bernetti joined his father Massimo in the management of the winery. After many years of cooperation with Giacomo Tachis, in 2002, they appointed famed Beppe Caviola as their consulting enologist.
Umani Ronchi is widely considered the leading wine producer in Le Marche. Stretching along the Eastern coast of Italy, this region provides an ideal environment for the Montepulciano and Verdicchio grapes.

Within Le Marche, Umani Ronchi owns over 400 acres in the prestigious production areas of Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico and Rosso Conero. Acknowledging the renewed interest in nearby Abruzzo, Umani Ronchi has also purchased an estate in the Colline Teramane area, a quality-driven sub-zone within the Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC. The mission of Umani Ronchi is to continually improve the quality of its wines, accentuating the varietal characteristics of the regional grapes from Le Marche and Abruzzo. This process is carried out with the utmost care for the inexpensive wines as well as for the world-class offerings that have made Umani Ronchi famous. In fact, most of their wines are produced from single vineyards, a practice that has transformed the image of Le Marche in Italy and around the world. Gambero Rosso recently described Umani Ronchi as the ‘Ambassador of Le Marche, making elegant and qualitative wines that are modern yet classic’. The same focus on elegance and finesse is best described in Michele Bernetti’s motto: Great wines, not big wines!
