Notes on the Wine
Some of the Castello di Verduno wines have a drawing of a flower found in the wine's vineyards. The Pelaverga label has a drawing of poppies which are called Basadone in local dialect (papavero in Italian). Basadone in dialect also means a little kiss - local tradition has it that Pelaverga is an aphrodesiac!
Notes on the Producer
Mario Andrion's star is rising in the Langhe. Since coming on board as winemaker at Gabriella Burlotto and Franco Bianco’s historic estate in 2000, Mario has steadily elevated his knowledge of the Castello's incredible collection of vineyards. With four exceptional sites at his command and a ton of talent , he has the resources to develop a mastery of the region that few can expect to achieve. All vines are farmed sustainably.
