Notes on the Wine
a deep, youthful ruby with hints of violet, with aromas that unfold in layers the longer the wine is open. Aromas of black and red plums, cherries, black raspberries, violets, pepper, crushed rocks, and smoke carry over to a bright, quenching, medium-bodied palate. Although driven by bright, ripe fruit and a hint of flinty smoke, there’s also lots of Burgundy-style “underbrush” character.
Notes on the Producer
Located at the end of the Plateau de Brossay, a geological curiosity a stoney Jurassic soil of flint with gravel and clay but unlike the rest of the Saumur appellation, without any limestone.
