Notes on the Wine
Mumm Grand Cordon Rosé is an independent spirit. This champagne challenges convention, a refreshing antidote to the floral and sweet fruit flavors of traditional rosé champagne.
Notes on the Producer
Since its founding in 1827, G.H. Mumm has forged a path of innovation in pursuit of ‘Daring to Champagne Differently’. Where others followed tradition, they conquered new territory - selecting specific terroir sites for their vineyards and building press houses, pioneering the use of stainless-steel vats during vinification, and creating a bespoke dosage for each cuvée. This mission is reflected in the Maison’s mastery of Pinot Noir, the boldest grape in Champagne. The signature grape of G.H. Mumm cuvées, Pinot Noir adds power and structure to the blends. This bold attitude stems from Georges Hermann Mumm, who brought international acclaim to the Maison through his motto ‘Only the Best’. In 1876 he created the iconic ‘Cordon Rouge’, a wine that was decorated with the red sash of the Légion d'Honneur, a symbol that signified the quality and prestige of the wine. We honor this historic cuvée with Grand Cordon, a triumph of three years of research and design released in 2016. The bottle’s new shape dares to defy centuries of Champagne tradition by engraving the red sash directly into the glass.
