Notes on the Wine
After a short cold maceration , the wine ferments at a controlled temperature , making gentle manual pump overs. After malolactic fermentation is complete, the wine is taken to French oak barrels where it remains for 10 months. Cherry color with intense purple rim. Powerful notes of black fruit, a violet touch. Medium intensity , unctuous and balanced with good acidity . Intense and fruity aftertaste.
Notes on the Producer
Founded in 1647, Bodegas Julián Chivite is the oldest wine-producing dynasty in Spain; the winemaking tradition has been passed down through 11 generations of the Chivite family. During this time, the firm has grown from its original establishment in Navarra to estates in different Spanish areas: Rioja, Ribera del Duero, and Rueda. Viña Salceda in Rioja belongs to Chivite Group and so does the Señorio de Arinzano estate, which in 2007 became the first Pago (top category of wine production in Spain) in northern Spain.
