Notes on the Producer
Founded in 1995 with the construction of the current winery, it is one of the most important wineries of the Montefalco DOCG district. Sagrantino, a native grape of this area, is considered one of the most ancient of Italy. Còlpetrone also produces Rosso di Montefalco DOC, the well-known Umbrian white wine Grechetto, and Sagrantino passito.
The wine production area of Montefalco is in the center of Umbria, a hilly area situated in an excellent position and with particular geological characteristics. From the estate you can easily reach the beautiful village of Montefalco, as well as the famous cities of Spoleto, Orvieto and Perugia, keeping in mind that Rome is only two hours drive far.
