Notes on the Wine
This is a beauty! Very complex wine with great balance and style. This rich concentrated wine, is packed with intense aromas of citrus, apple, pear and floral scents with a tropical background. The palate is full-bodied and voluminous, with a fresh and vibrant acidity and great minerality.
Notes on the Producer
The Melgaço region is the original home of Alvarinho grape. Melgaco, the most northern region of Portugal, is protected by the surrounding mountains that allow a perfect marriage between rainfall, temperature and the number of hours of sunshine need it for the maturation of the Alvarinho grape. It is here that Quinta do Regueiro Estate produces Foral Alvarinho.
In 1988, the first vineyard was planted on a plot of merely 0.3 hectares. Over the following 10 years, the Estate’s owner, Paulo Rodrigues, continue to plant his vineyards on terraces to increase production making it total 15 hectares.
