Region: Greece
Grapes: Moschofilero
Alcohol: 12%
The grapes for the Monograph Moschofilero come from vineyards located in the Arcadian plateaus in the Mantinia region of Peloponnese, at an altitude of 1,500ft. In this cool climate, the pink-skinned Moschofilero thrives, developing intense, spicy and floral aromatics and crisp acidity. This lively, dry white wine has an intensely floral and fruity nose, with hints of rose petal and spice. A refreshing wine, with a crisp acidity and flavorful finish.
Notes on the Producer
Gaia Wines was founded in 1994 by Yiannis Paraskevopoulos, Agriculturist from AUT and PhD in Enology from the University of Bordeaux III, and Leon Karatsalos Agriculturist from AUT.
Our basic option was to install our wineries in the two most important wine growing regions of Greece, Santorini and Nemea, and to produce competitive wines of high-quality standards. -Yiannis Paraskevopoulos
We expected people reading the labels of Gaia Wines to understand this provocative idea, which was our driving force, and always remains the same: to explore in depth the boundaries of the Greek varieties, making them well-known all over the world. -Leon Karatsalos
