Notes on the Wine

Presented in a clear bottle, the Brut Rosé Grande Réserve is a blend of “bled” (saignée) rosé and traditional rosé wines. The former will endow this delicious Champagne with generous aromas of red fruit on the nose. The latter will impart the finesse and elegance displayed by fine rosé Champagnes. With its judicious level of “dosage” this Champagne can be enjoyed as an aperitif or paired with food, where its length works wonders.

Notes on the Producer

Dating from the end of the 17th century, digged deeply into the heart of Champagne, the cellars guarantee freshness and perfect long ageing to the wines. The very unique atmosphere is firstly due to the incredible architecture with vaults made of “meuliere stones”. Also in these cellars, the “liqueurs de dosage” are secretly elaborated and reserve wines are stored in casks to ensure the continuity of the style of the wines.

Long ageing on the tees allows Mandois’s wines (bottles, magnums and others) to develop slowly their characteristics under the chapel of Pierry’s church. Each year, an oak full of the best champagne made at Mandois is hidden in this mystic place under the grave of Friar Oudart. This wine is dedicated to the mess celebration on St Vincent’s date. The story of these cellars is consequently also the buried treasury of traditions in Champagne.

A proportion of our wines, including the Grands Crus, are aged in oak “Demi- Muids” (600 l barrels) in order to mature them as gently as possible. Our expertise, handed down from generation to generation since 1735, has defined the unique, individualistic style of our Champagnes, centred on finesse and elegance. Vineyards in a perfect location, grapes produced with the greatest of care, meticulous blending work and prolonged ageing are the foundations of our philosophy.
