Notes on the Producer
Founded by Giorgio Lungarotti, pioneer of modern Italian oenology, the company today continues its path focused on quality production and sustainability, thanks to the commitment, passion and competence of the daughters Chiara and Teresa, supported by their mother Maria Grazia and by the sons of Teresa: Francesco and Gemma.
Nearly two centuries ago, local Umbrian landowners, the Lungarotti family, were producing wine and olive oil in the Mid-Tiber River valley. Until the 1930s, when Giorgio obtained a degree in Agriculture, focused on vineyard practices - and began to cover the family hillsides with vineyards. The family winery was established with his first bottled wine in the 1960s, Rubesco, which remains one of the most famous Umbrian labels in the world. Since then, the winery has expanded and Lungarotti now produces about 2.5 million bottles for 29 different labels. All of this familial love for the land you’ll find in this fresh and fruity 100% Vermentino, one of the first planted in the Torgiano area.
