Notes on the Wine
Careful extraction results in a round and powerful wine. Barrel aging adds a touch of complexity without altering the soul of this vibrantly fruity wine.
Notes on the Producer
Philippe and Séverine Emile have been farming this property under a lease agreement since 1997. They began marketing their wines under the name "Château Manoir du Gravoux." In 2002, they decided to create a new Château Manoir du Gravoux cuvée, "Cuvée La Violette." In 2007, their latest cuvée was named "Le Secret du Manoir." It wasn't necessarily an easy vintage to start with, but this old one-hectare plot, planted in 1958 with 100% Merlot vines on the clay-limestone plateau, is very well-suited to producing a full-bodied, fruity wine with plenty of character.
